my wife and i have already discussed this. as i am emotionally stronger than she is we both preferred she would pass first.

she joked that was why she married a younger man 🙂
 
In all likelyhood, my wife will die first as a result of health issues and having to live with me, so I voted for her to go first.

Not to sound like an arrogant bastard or Vulcan, but I don't know how much I'd mourn and be 'devastated' over the loss of my wife. Don't get me wrong, I love her and will expend myself to any end to keep her healthy and happy. I just see death as a natural part of life, like eating or sleeping. It's going to happen, and it sucks, but why get worked up about it? It's unavoidable.
 
Depends how old we are.

If we're in our 40's or 50's it's better if I die. I'm much more likely to be able to remarry if I were so inclined..whereas she's stuck as an old maid the rest of her life.

By the time we're 80-90 we probably won't even know who we are.
