How the hell can you be loved and respected all over the world and have no close friends?

Because that person chooses not to?

Bruce Wayne has some very close friends, he just can't be seen in public with most of them.

Hmm... Bruce Wayne, perhaps?
See, that's not effective, because I had to look up that name to know who it was. Ah, fictitious character = Batman.:)
Kobe Bryant - I think he's some sports guy. Google confirms this.

its a tough call because with money you can have close friends...i know this is hypothetical but in reality it'd be pretty hard to be rich and not have friends...

Exactly how do you know how Kobe Bryant lives? Bruce Wayne also has Alfred. Alfred fucking rules.

Tough question - from a selfish point of view, mediocre.

Ideally, billionaire with no associates if I could donate it all to help people with less.

Rich, because at least if I had all that money I could get over the loneliness factor by doing good things with my money. Then I'd spend the rest of my time vacationing with my dogs.

You just don't know where to shop. What's that phrase - money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you a big ass yatch to park right next to it.

Bruce Wayne had at least Alfred, and would certainly have had many other real friends had he not been preoccupied with the Batman's duty.

Didnt read topic but no question at all money to me means nothing to a point. All I need to live is a nice volvo, a decent gaming computer and enough money to make a girlfriend happy (maybe I do need to be a billionaire then...)

wow i thought this would be a clear cut winner, it prob is but people are just selecting 1 even though they wouldnt do it. Or they assume oh i would have friends though the stipulation is that you would NOT have friends or family period!
Though some people would prob do it... like he who must not be named

I'm thinking I'd lean more toward being rich, actually. Yeah, I could live lavishly, but a lot could be donated, which could do more considerably good for the world than one person's relationships with a few people could do. Of course, just how rich would be a factor here. Some people would consider having a million dollars in the bank as being "rich," others would need something over a billion.

I'd probably die after injecting too much coke into my cock but damn, it would be a fun run-up to that moment of brilliance.

Gimme the cash!

I dislike my family and don't have many friends. A billion dollars would sure make me happy!
