Would you pay to see someone executed?

Lethal injection is the most common form of execution used in the United States, so witnessing the event would be pretty boring. Kinda like watching someone go to sleep.

If it was on television, lets say- pay per view, it would still get a lot of viewers. Maybe the same kind of people who get off on snuff movies that were popular years ago.

Wait! I got it... how about a movie about Jesus Christ and his execution! I'll bet people would pay good money to watch something like that.

Your trolling won't get many.

I'll bite though and just say that you either didn't understand, or totally missed the point of the movie (and Christianity in general) if that's all you understood it to be about. I hope you will either stop trying to start a fight, or if genuine in your ignorance (as witnessed by your statement), ask someone to explain it to you.

Jesus died over 2000 years ago. This Movie is just one man's vision of what supposedly happened according to the Book called the Bible. Whether it's true or not depends on your beliefs.

Yeah, I might be trolling, but the fight has already begun. Mel Gibson knew there would be controversy, and I think that tensions between Christians and Jews are strained.

Everybody wants to look at this through a religious viewpoint. My original point was to expose our fascination with gore and violence. I have no problem with people being moved by their own feelings and faith. My problem is with people drawn to violent portrayals of suffering, a lot like looking at a car accident.

He's making a nice return-on-investment, so I am sure he welcomes the controversy...perfect marketing.

"Tensions are strained." :)

The funny part is that after seeing the movie, my Jewish friends are asking lots of questions about Christianity. They never seemed interested before. I guess that the open dialog is not a bad thing. I ask questions about the Old Testament, and they ask questions about the New Testament. It's a win-win situation, especially in these closed minded times.

Just got back from seeing it. Every woman in the place was streaming tears. They were basket cases leaving the Theatre. Movie critics painted a very poor picture on this one, it was a lot better than I expected.

"especially in these closed minded times"

Seeing the Movie clearly shows how we are heading towards that very same road again. We are heading straight into the Dark Ages all over again, gives pause about the whole second coming scenario arriving sooner than later.

No I wouldn't, but the Passion of Christ is not paying to see an execution either. Black and white hysteria over it paints it that way, but that's not how the movie is done. I've yet to see it, and probably won't, but why make an issue of it?

I did see someone executed tonight.

It was my Savior.

I don't think I ever want to see another one again...and to be honest, as a nearly card carrying rightwinger...its certainly changing my stance on the death penalty.

well i think the death penelty is fine for putting a raved murder out of his misery as much as i think it is fine to do the same with a raved dog. however, killing a person for the reasons they killed Jesus is a blatant affront to my moral standards, just as charging people to watch an execution is.
