I live in a house with 4 other people and 3 legitimate parking spots. You have a 66% chance of having someone parked behind your car if you are in one of those spots. Usually, if your car is blocking someone you move it for them and if you're not there the blocked person will move your car with one of your spare keys.
Three weeks ago, I was blocked in and asked my roommmate to move his car. He wasn't busy doing anything productive, but refused and told me to move it myself. I was pretty pissed since he wasn't doing anything and said, "no, seriously I need you to move your car." To which he responded, "Go fvck yourself. I'm not doing it. I have to move people's cars all the time, it's not hard..." So I ended up having to move his car and accidently left one of the wheels on the lawn resulting in what is now a $35 ticket with late fees. I said I'm not paying it and he's pissed.
My argument is that I would pay it had he been gone, or sleeping, etc. But him telling me to move it for him pretty much removes me of any responsibility of my actions.
His argument is that well what if he were to move my car into the middle of the street and got a ticket. Would I be expected to pay for it?
Suggestions?
