It's pretty amazing looking at completed auctions on eBay. People are buying USED processors at or above the lowest pricewatch price on brand new ones.

What is the maximum percentage of new price would you pay for a used CPU in good condition?

Absolutely retarded. I've noticed that regarding auction sites like Ubid (which used to be a great place years ago). Morons will bid way too much for crap when they could have just bought it new. I am glad to see them waste their money because they didn't do their research on it.
Like Anubis said only if it's a rare processor they may need for some reason and can't get it anywhere else or they can get it slightly cheaper on Ebay.
Overall it's pretty subjective but I can guage its worth it depending on the situation when I buy them refurbed at Newegg, for instance. I got my Athlon XP 2500+ OEM which was selling for about $100.00 at the time for $60.00. To me that was a good deal. Same thing with an XP 1700+ I got for $30.00 when they were selling for about $52.00 new OEM.

Edit: Just remembered 2500+ wasn't OEM...came with HSF.

Only if It was a kickass product that you can't buy anymore.

BH-5 RAM for example.

Or if it was tested and guaranteed to run at a certain speed.

for example a JIUHB 1700+ guaranteed to hit over 2.5GHz :p (Example assumes prior to A64)

it's because the general public doesn't know about pricewatch.
It just goes to show that eBay is still a seller's market.

People who don't know how to find deals on ebay are stupid.

People who don't research what they are trying to buy before deciding on a purchase...

People who pay full retail at <insert store>, when they might be willing to wait a few days
to have the same item shipped from an online store (for less)...

I know people who are quite good at both selling and buying on ebay and other auction sites.

Maybe 75% of new price maximum. Probably more like 60% though. Depends on how badly I want it though really.
