1) Depends on the price
2) They must get rid of their ads and "preferred placement" junk, like those useless sites that do nothing more than display more ads once you click on them.

No, and in this imaginary world, I would start a free serach engine dotcom, I'd call it... Snafoo or Bamzee or something dot com... I would make billions, and I'd retire.
 
You tards. Google changed the way the web works. If you can't find a website, you use Google. If you have a question you use Google to find the question. It would certainly be worth paying for.

Having said that, if it started as a pay to use service, it would not be where it is now. The culture of free, open-source, software is too ingrained into internet users.
