Would you pay $500 for a Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB?

Honestly, I could afford it, and I still would not. Im probibly going to get one of the 128mb NV35 chipset cards. The image is said to be as or more accurate than the new ATI cards, so it's gotta be good. I'll probibly spend $275-300 on my next card. My most expensive computer part ever has been a Samsung Syncmaster P95F+B at $370 shipped.

No way, it's one of the worst performing, most expensive cards ever. Im probibly not going to get either, and get an AGP Pro card. My friend got one out of a Tekken 4 game for $500. 512mb of DDR ram, awesome card. Hes a graphic designer. He had an OC'd AIW Radeon 9700 Pro, but it just didn't cut it for his dual MP 2800 w/ 4gb of ram system.

At a local dealer yet!!! Goooood Deal i couldn't oass it up, this was like 1week ago too.

It's absolutely rediculous to pay that much money for a video card. Wait a few months and the price will drop a few hundred dollars!! Only the rich and the mentally insane waste money on $500 video cards (I'm not talking about people who need something like a FireGL for CAD or something business related though, just Joe Schmoe).

the $199 is prolly your best bet. i have a 9700 pro right now, wont upgrade until this time next year
