Would you pay $35 for a movie ticket, plus extra for popcorn?

I would. Not having to deal with annoying crowds, teenagers yakking on their cell phone or texting, idiots walking by all the time etc. It would be a nice movie experience, but I'd only use it for those movies I really really want to see right away without having to wait for it to come out on DVD.

What about $35 and all you can eat popcorn, nachos, hotdogs and drinks? I heard that some baseball parks are doing this to fill empty seats.

I have a theatre of this sort very near me. Got a free upgrade to it to watch Transformers. Only about 30 seats in the theatre, large and comfortable, and for some reason filled with cute university-age girls. I enjoyed both the movie and the experience thoroughly. :)

Nope. I go to Studio Movie Grill which is basically the same thing only with $10 tickets. Food, beer, cocktails are all normal priced. Never had my seat kicked or big hair in front either.

You know, the only way this would work (and i'd pay maybe a few times in my life for this) is if the theater was arranged like this...

2 rows up front, full recockulous leather reclining chairs (think 5k+ a seat)

2 rows in back, all loveseats

If they're even close to normal chairs then FTS

I am pretty sure there are theaters like this in the US. I recall reading about this a long time ago.

There is a theater like this in Vancouver, WA called Cinetopia.

I've been there and I really enjoyed the quality of the projection and sound. It's also a lot more reasonably priced.
