Who knows...you might impress her or something...and she might give you her personal direct number or something....or even have lunch with you again...or maybe invite you to gatherings or partys, or even to her house...

She could even get you some parts in some movies....you never know...

She might even introduce you to other stars...c'mon..there are so many possibilities....alot of doors could open just by having lunch with her...

You could become friends with Halle....

I would pay $20k...

Lmao... that's just pathetic.

No, for three reasons. I've never heard of her, I don't have $20,000, and I'm not a social person anyways.

America is a culture of celebrity worship. Other than being good actors and beautiful people, there is nothing that separates them from us as people. Paying someone $20k to have lunch with them is pretty much debasing your own self-worth, in my opinion.

Of course, if I was a famous millionaire who wanted to donate $20k to charity, that is a different matter.

What is pathetic about it...

What is truely pathetic is they get paid $20,000,000 a movie....though if I made that much money....I wouldn't complain..

If I had a chance to meet with a beautiful woman like Halle Berry who has connections in the movie industry that run far.... I would definately have a private lunch with her...

You just might impress her...like I said...there are so many possibilities...

Maybe one day you could be making $20,000,000 a movie....thanks to her help...

Think about it...a small investment of $20,000 can turn into $20,000,000....

And c'mon...honestly...even if you didnt impress her and she never wanted to talk to you ever again, you could still say (brag) you had lunch with one of the most beautiful women on the planet...considering that probably none of us in this forum would ever have another chance with a woman as beautiful as her....

First of all, it's not pathetic that they get paid that amount of money. Take a basic economics class and figure out why they get paid that much money for a movie. That's what happens in a capitalist society.

Secondly, you honestly think she's going to hook you up in the movie industry? Do you know how many times a day stars are probably asked for favors to get somebodys brother, cousin, father, whatever into the industry? It isn't going to happen.

Lastly, if a friend of mine tried to brag about having lunch with Hallie Berry, I'd point out to him that he had to pay to have lunch with her, and $20,000 at that.

Most of us like to live in this world we like to call reality. Maybe you should stop by sometime?

No, I think what's more pathetic is that people pay $10 for tickets to movies like "Catwoman" and "Gothika". :)

Well, Im not going to argue with you...but I will say...

It IS pathetic that they get paid $20,000,000 a movie......you said it yourself, we live in a capitalistic society....so why shouldn't a big chunk of that $20,000,000 paid to the movie star, that goes into the production costs of the movie be given back to the shareholders of the movie corporations just as the movie earnings are paid back to the shareholders in share "dividends" etc...?

I would feel much better if the movie star got $5,000,000...thats very good compensation...if movie corporations didn't pay out excessive amounts of money to movie stars, then more money would go back into the shareholder's pockets...who deserve the money...and even moreso, alot more money would be put back into the economy from those dividends to shareholders at the sametime (even though at a very marginal/low percentage compared to the amount of money large tech companies like Microsoft put back into the economy when they gave a dividend to shareholder's for the first time not so long ago...)

And just so you know, I know alot about economics...

$20k is the estimated auction ending price for such an event with Halle Berry, but the auction is only at $5,500 at the moment with 4 days left of bidding...

Other auctions include a day on the set of ABC's "Lost"....that auction is priced at $2,750 at the moment..

Here is a CNN Link about the the auctions...

Link

Does that include sex or is that extra?

No.

The most I'd do would be pay for dinner, and it wouldn't be an expensive place (not on the first date, anyway).

Yet you'll spend $100 or $200 to go out on a date with a girl much less attractive then her, just to get laid, and you still don't have the assurance that it's going to happen.

I think you missed the real selling point of this lunch for many of the guys here when you left out the part about it being on the set of X-Men 3. :)

Since you know so much about economics, then you would know about the "Superstar" phenomenon that is taught in an intro microeconomics course, and why this arises

Yes, I do know about it...

The superstar phenomenon occurs in occupations where personal rewards are closely associated with market size...basically meaning when relatively small numbers of people like movie stars earn enormous amounts of money and dominate in movie roles..

Who the hell spends $100 on a date? I don't think I've ever spent more than $30. And that includes the gas used while driving around.

So if I spend a max of $30 on poon I do want, why would I spend $20 on poon that I don't want?
