Would you like the govt to collapse?

My opinion:

The Hamiltonian/Wilsonian State has gone on for too damn long, and the U.S. govt needs to collapse from within. Futurity will be better off for it. It would be better for the govt to collapse within really soon than for Americans to actually be sacked by external forces. Currently threatening America are taxes and the govt's desire to start a war against Russia, China, and Iran

Confederalism needs to be restored to America and the sooner it happens the better.

There maybe a few downsides, but things would settle into great goodness within 10 years of having no centralism of power.

Dude, "a few downsides" ? You're probably talking about the deaths of millions, if not tens of millions of Americans. I'm not a big government fan, but a collapse of it is a horror story.

Go to Somalia, Iraq, or any African country that has had a government collapse. It's never been pretty.

You're arguing for the deaths of millions, starvation, looting and destruction of the country for... Confederalism? Since Confederalism (whatever that is) has never sprung out of any governmental collapse that I know of, I doubt it would spring from an American government collapse.

Would I like the government to collapse? Hell no! Despite what you might think as being bad, this country is a stable place to live.

Would I like government to be smaller? Absolutely, you can start by shrinking the military by stopping the use of contractors that do the work the military once did its self as well as all the useless and bloated defense projects. Cutting the pentagon and the CIA's budget as well as their influence and reach would be the first thing on my to do list. We can also get rid of homeland security while we are at it.

The obsession with small government marches on. I don't necessarily want small government, I want effective government that doesn't trample my rights. Having a government the size that it was in 1798 isn't going to be good for today's world. But there are places to cut the fat and other places that warrant expansion.

As to the question that the OP puts forth in YAwhatisAnarchist420smokingtodayT: No, I rather like living in a stable society.

This guy lives in his mom's basement. He doesn't have a clue what life is like in places with little to no government.

Hint: It's not the glorious paradise you're imagining.

I guess it's hard to see a downside from your perspective since you have never held a job and someone else provides everything for you. You think you could just hole up in your moms basement like you are now and she'll just keep bringing you your lunchable pizzas and juice boxes even after daddy loses his job and is unable to buy food, not withstanding the fact that store shelves would probably run dry.

OP: What do you mean by collapse? And, what do you mean by 'would you like'? Is this in comparison to some other option or scenario, or, just outright would we want it to be gone?

The government collapsing would be a disaster but it would be better than the BS we have now. No income taxes being stolen from us, no money going for welfare leeches and other special interests, the bureaucrats would be out of work and it would be a lot harder for idiots to ram their agendas down the throats of the people.

LOL. Do you even have a job? If so, it wouldn't exist anymore after the government collapsed. But I guess having no money is better than paying income tax.

I actually do have a job, I am not rich but I would be able to survive even though it wont happen soon

The term small government and efficient/effective government are typically used interchangeably. For clarification I'd like to see both, a smaller government in terms of military and intellegence system and a more efficient/effective government with respect to the services it provides.

So you only want to cut the military yet I see nothing about the bureaucracy or welfare which are a major source of the spending problems, Pathetic

the death of one is a tragedy, of a million is a statistic.

To answer OP I prefer bitching about the current gov than watching my neighbors be eaten by roving bandits in a post apocalyptic wasteland. You want a more fun answer post it at the doomsday-preppers.com forum and get back to us.

I was actually thinking about this subject while doing some research on the Fed reserve and central banking system.
It Isn’t a perfect system but what are the actual real functional alternatives?
As jacked up I think this country is, it’s still a great place to live.
besides you don’t have to collapse it to fix it, just get rid of lobby and publically finance campaigns, the rest of the shit will work itself out from there.

They might be used as synonyms, but they aren't really interchangeable. You can have bad (and ineffective) "small" government and good (and effective) "big" government.

I meant it in an absolute sense.:)

Why would I want the govt to provide for me when my parents or my brothers or a church or a friend could provide for me? I volunteer by the way.

How would they provide for you if all of the sudden they're making $.35 / hour because the government doesn't exist to impose minimum wage?

I think you're missing the part about how a government collapse would push us to a 3rd world country pretty quick...

Collapse? No.

Reform? Yes.

We have tons of broken programs in our country and we have crooks who are embedded in the government.

Get rid of the leeches. Fix what's broken. Recover.

To the average retard/anarchist, the absence of government would mean a peaceful utopia of freedom and happiness. To the 99.99% of the rest of humanity that's ever lived, we realize government is a necessary function to promote human life.
