Would you like a side order of rape to go with your pillage?

Watching Trump on CNN right now.

In talking about Isis, he said: "we took their oil, we now have their oil, that's how they were getting a lot of their money.

Sounds to me like you just confessed to a war crime on national TV. Look up "pillage".

Mr. Narrow-Minded Russian Lover Trump who is blinded by the $$$ in front of his eyes ignores the damage he's done to the region by abandoning our Kurd allies giving his Pal Putin and his puppet Assad so much more influence in that area thus pissing off our other allies and his own generals and intelligence agencies while he's at it.

Yessir, he brags about the oil because that's what the whole mess he made is all about? That's his takeaway from the irreparable damage he's caused our nation and to our allies?

This is MAGA in action? lol

The oil fields in far east Syria.

Unless Turkey backs that play, the United States is operating on borrowed time over there. Some day, Putin and Assad will take it from us.

ISIS didn't have the oil when Trump redirected our troops to seize it. Trump left the Kurds to be slaughtered and seized the oil wells from someone other than ISIS. Maybe you should try to learn something about the world before posting nonsense.

P.S. Robbing a bank to house the homeless doesn't get you a free pass.

A crime is still a crime.

It would be totally legit if it was ISIS' oil to steal. Seems like maybe somebody else might have a stronger claim to the oil than either ISIS or Trump.

No it would not. It's a war crime regardless of conditions.

Pillage:
Looting, also referred to as sacking, ransacking, plundering, despoiling, despoliation, and pillaging, is the indiscriminate taking of goods by force as part of a military or political victory, or during a catastrophe, such as war, natural disaster, or rioting. Wikipedia

It's a Viking thing. They added a good helping of rape and made it a toga party.

the US does not have possession of the oil, it was taken out of the control of ISIS. ISIS did have a very interesting system of production and truck drivers that would pick up a load from a ISIS controlled field and drive to non-ISIS territory where they could sell it to corrupt refiners in other countries for cash. Its actually quite an interesting study and actually quite efficient and organized with people managing the fields and people managing relationships with the refiners, and controlling the movements of the trucks from ISIS controlled fields, through non-isis controlled areas and oil fields and to the drop points to attempt to confuse anyone watching.

We did not drive in and take it all in a truck back to the US. Oil production is a complicated process i have been involved with for 11 years.

So, uhh, when Trump announced that ISIS had been defeated they still had control of the oil? Was Trump lying then, now, or both?

And now, assuming oil is actually being produced, who gets the revenue from its sale?

the oil was always being produced. hopefully its not being sold illegally by ISIS anymore, and whatever the oil company is, probably SEPOC or YOGC in Yemen, and Al-Furat in Syria.

Production is a tiny fraction of what it was before the civil war.

Trump's efforts keep the revenue going to Kurdish militias & prevents the Assad govt from taking control & restoring production.

well, someone is getting it and its not ISIS anymore. not sure if its better or worse Assad vs the kurds or some other group. we seem to keep proping up the next taliban/isis/whatever every time we support a group over there.

So informing you of actual things that are not in dispute is now being "anti-Trump."

What the fuck is wrong with you?

You mean like the left leaning, Trump bashing, fake news Military Times?

The stretches of Syria east of the Euphrates, where the oil is located, have been lost to the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad for most of the country’s eight-year civil war.

Its mostly Arab population is opposed to Assad, angry with years of neglect that impoverished the area despite its resource wealth. Since U.S.-backed Kurdish-led forces drove out the Islamic State group, it has been governed by a Kurdish-led administration.

So no, the oil fields haven't benefited ISIS for quite a while, long before US troops showed up. If anything, you could really stretch and say that US troops are there to prevent a possible incursion by ISIS fighters. But of course, that's only because Trump turned tail and left the area at Turkey's bequest, causing the Kurds to lose the full control of the area.

Nothing personal about that, or any kind of attack... ;)

It's an honest question.

Many of us remain baffled at how today's so-called adults in Trumpland are literally staring at the sky and demanding that we believe, as they now do, that it is green. I am simply trying to get at how this has happened. Perhaps you could help illuminate us? Lord knows OP won't even try. He never does.

So, Trump didn't "take the oil" and doesn't have control over it?

He's going to lie himself right into a war crimes trial at The Hague.

Wasn't their oil to start with. It's Syria's. Take the time to understand what's going on please.
