Would you let a friend drive your 662hp Shelby GT500?

I let people drive my cars. Wife even took my V to work today in the rain (her car won't start). Typically, people are to afraid to get on the gas.

I guess I get pleasure out of people getting to enjoy the things I have. Really sucks owning nice stuff when you can't share.

True. My sister and her husband came out to visit for a week back in October. I rode the motorcycle to work the entire time they were here and I let them use my car. My sister actually commented on how much power my car has. I guess it's all relative. 😀

She's used to a Jeep Wrangler so a Maxima with the 3.5l VQ probably seems like a muscle car in comparison.

I actually let my dad drive my car, and he grew up driving v8 mustangs, but he's never felt a supercharged mustang until he drove mine, and it actually scared me watching him drive it 🙁

A big part of the fun in owning a special car is sharing it with others. It's a car, it's meant to be driven. Of course you should be somewhat selective and preferably supervise but these things are no fucking good if you just keep them to yourself.

I think the lesson here is don't let an idiot drive it by himself. With me (or my brother) in the passenger seat I'll let most anyone drive my car.

Viper GTS

I've let family and relatives borrow and drive my cars/bike. They've done the same for me. We've done swaps for a weekend. I don't worry because my cars are cheaper and less powerful than theirs. 🙂

Interesting that there is mud all over. Who drives a car like that in the rain? Then gets on it on top of it...

My car is terrifying enough on cold dry pavement. Rain is a big fat no.

Depends on the friend, but I wouldn't let most of them drive my car and it has less than 1/2 that power (for now anyway). It can still get you in a heap of trouble real fast regardless.

Ive let people drive my car, but not without me in the passenger seat.
Looks to me they slid sideways and hit an overpass support. The mud/dirt would come from the grass in the meridian.

+All of it.

Sorry unless that friend also has a high horsepower car as well then no way.

My Dad I would he has driven Corvettes all his life and knows how to handle high horsepower/torque.

this. i have friends that have high HP cars and some that dont. ive driven 500+ HP cars of friends, but mainly due to the fact that they know ive done it before. same would go for my cars, if i had one certain friends would never get to drive it, others probably would tho.

if i had a 662hp cobra, hell yeah i would let people drive it because obviously i have extra money to lose in lieu of fun times.

if its my truck were talking about, the 230k miles one with rust all over it- over my dead body. nobody touches my truck, period. there is a reason its lasted 230k miles and thats because im the only one who drives it. end of story.
