Would you leave your significant other because they used drugs? That is, if you yourself were against them? Im not talking about pot here. Im talking more serious drugs such as cocaine or acid. Also, if they lied to you about it for a long time, how would that make you feel?

Just for pot? 90% of the U.S. population does pot. It seems that way, anyway...

I wouldn't believe stats like that, it may be true, but still, those sort of numbers seem to depend on who you talk to don't they?

A relationship doesn´t really work if you´re not into the same things. Or does it? But I´m guessing with the note on more serious drugs that there´s something more involved here than just "doin the drug". I´m thinking like "sex for coke" or somehthing.

If she´s sporting a nice strong drug portfolio, than you gotta wonder how she comes up with funds for that. I don´t think hard drugs are all that cheap. And I´d bet a girl could get drugs for "favors". (obviously) That doesn´t make for a whole lot of faithfulness in a relationship. Maybe the question should be, "Would you dump a girl if she svcks **** for coke?" My answer, "Yep, unless it´s mine." And if she brought something like this out of the dark after a while.... well, how do you NOT know your ol girl is on the china white? An impossible and difficult situation I hope I´m never in. Lying about drugs is a pretty big lie. Not a real "healthy" connection if something like that has to be hidden.

You have a siginificant other with a drug hobby?

I may be a tad bit of a hypocrite as I used to do the odd drug, but I'd totally not put up with that anymore. I've changed too though, I don't touch ANYTHING anymore. :)

I wouldn't date a smoker, much less a user of illegal drugs.

I'm OK with very light alcohol + the occasional cigar (gin & tonic + a good cigar = great way to spend a summer evening on the porch) but I have zero tolerance for anything more.

Actually, it is an ex that I was having thoughts about getting back together with... She wants to, and it is very tempting... The lie bothers me far too much. As far as i know, it is, or was, only an every once in a while sort of thing. That, I dont have a problem with. The lying, is what I cant handle. I highly doubt she was giving anything for it. Then again, I dont know....

That cancels out a very large portion of the female population.

You may want to end it, but I don't think you need to be as harsh as suggested. Perhaps this person needs some help first?

if they are doing it so much that they are addicted or are not able to hold a job or save money i would try to help them but if they still did it and lied to me then i would leave them.

you can't start a life with someone who is addicted to drugs, its too much of a strain finicially and emotionally.

Exactly. I guess it's a personal preference. I just can't picture being with somebody who smoked. Blech.

Yeah man, tough call... If it was just an "expiremtal" type of basis, (alright I´m going to assume alot of stuff) I´d guess that her friends had some and shared. (people are so generous with drugs, it seems, not like I know all about it or anything) So, I´d doubt she´d do anything for the drugs, let alone need to. Huh... So it boils down to faithfulness... tough call indeed. Was this the only thing she´s kept from ya? and, is she worth the risk? Maybe like an investment... she a safe investment? gonna get any "returns" on your "investments"? ah man... horrible analogy.

if it was me, and the girl is above average to exceptional, then I´d say hell with it and go. Life is to short to spend it alone.

In this day and age, the females, especially the ones we deem desirable, love to party... Drink, drugs, etc, etc.

Its not easy finding women who dont do this...

Only if she is ugly. Now honestly, if I was dating a girl with the look of Paris Hilton or Natalie Portman, I would think twice about that.

Almost none of the girls I know do drugs or smoke. They might have done it in high school, but not as adults. 10$ says it's the type of people you are selecting to hang out with.

Most adults get past the whole drug thing and grow up.
