Would you go out in public wearing sweat pants?

Yes and no. I have some types, but they are more "yoga" pants, fitted, not baggy or ripped/torn. They are not bad looking and I will occasionally wear them out. Very rarely though.
It is all about the cut, fit and how worn they are.

Hell going to and from karate class I wear my Gi out in public, but I would not wear it to the movies or shopping.

I won't even go hiking in sweat pants. But I don't really judge others who wear sweat pants, women can look hot in just about anything.

so you're fine with the 300lb lady in purple sweat pants. you wouldn't judge her? 😉

at least she's not trying to squeeze into a pair of Levis....not only is that more disturbing, but also a fire hazard.

I don't have any of them, but if I did I MIGHT wear them if they fit and if they had pockets, but probably not, since I pretty much wear what I need to for work, or shorts.

This kind of thing prompted me to rewrite the dress code at my previous workplace. We had one lady who weighed about 250+ and was about 5' 2" who loved to wear spandex to work. REALLY TIGHT(at the breaking point) bright blue spandex. It was more than anyone could bear, I had about a zillion complaints in just a couple of days. I don't have a problem with sweats usually, but when they're cutting off circulation I really don't want to see it.

I always wear sweat pants to class, but usually not the ones with the cuffed bottoms. I wear the reallly warm ones that are more fleece pants than sweat pants.

The ones that say "Pink" on the ass?

No, "Juicy".

those juicy ones are some expensive sweatpants.

or how bout the ones that say C*ck
this is the closest example I could get.

Hell yes. A quick trip to the grocery store or 7-11...no problem.

However, I don't wear them to the mall or to a "regular business."

I was always amazed at how poorly young kids dressed to go to college. Many of them looked like they were still in their pj's...

I have no problem running to the grocery store or something on my day off and wearing sweat pants or track pants.

I don't really own many, though... as I've lost weight, they're not something I've been regularly buying new pairs of (though I might now that it's winter... my 3X track pants are probably too big to even cinch now that I'm wearing L-XL)

Most of them were. Honestly, I never had much of a problem with the way the "typical" college student dressed--you're headed to class, so there generally aren't very many people you need to impress along the way.

That being said, I never could stand the khaki shorts + birkenstocks + pastel polo w/popped collar look. Sadly, it's still very popular apparently.

I also never grasped the concept of wearing sandals to a crowded bar and then complaining when your toes are destroyed by the end of the night.

sandals should never be worn unless you're within sight of your home or a large body of water imo

I'm not going to disagree, although down here in the south, most people do seem to find them to be more comfortable (especially during the summer) than closed-toe shoes.

Then again, I have a feeling the open-toe-at-the-bar situation is what led to the invention of crocs, which are, in my opinion, the most disgusting pieces of footwear ever devised by humans.

if it's my day off, or im sick, i live in comfy clothes, which may or may not include sweats. i wouldn't go out to dinner in them or anything, but if im running errands, hell no am i changing; judge me if you want --> -_- my care face.

also, hot girls + sweatpants = x3 hotness factor.

Hot girls that wear sweatpants are bon bon eating, diabeetus lovin fatties once they hit mid thirties and their youthful metabolism slows down.

Kinda true for most women though, right? 😛

I know people who wear sandals religiously... I think wearing sandals is quite alright, but I never understand how they can survive in the snow and wear sandals... They manage somehow. :/

Anyway... Would I? Maybe. I don't own any right now though... Hot girls look hot in them though... But, hot girls usually look hot in anything.

Hell, I live in sandals and flip-flops from April through mid-October at least...

Obviosly there are places where they're inappropriate, (work settings and such) but otherwise, they're fine for everyday wear.

This.

Also, I own *a* pair of sweatpants I bought after an awful rock climbing trip at which we got soaked in cold rain. I wear them once in a while, and would wear them almost anywhere I go. I own several pairs of cute pajama pants and will wear those almost anywhere (I really tested that limit when I severely sunburned myself on a nice vacation and they were all my poor legs could tolerate).

I go out in public in sweatpants during the winter time for quick trips to stores. Other than that I don't wear them if I'm not working out. I really don't think anything of other people wearing them. I couldn't care less what people wear when they go out, if I don't know them.

Pajamas? That's maybe a different story, but I've worn my slippers out on many occassions, lol.

I used to do pajamas for errands and stuff when I was younger, but now I try to look semi-presentable in public. Never know who you're going to run into.

KT

this.

What do you guys wear when lounging around? I'm assuming sweatpants extends into similar things like track pants and PJ-like pants (flanels, fleeces, etc). Although some people do actually wear track suits as regular clothes...

hot white sorority chicks can totally pull it off

i would wear them, but you just gotta make sure you put on the right stuff. a long sleeve tee or athletic tee over it would work.

Popped collar is not my style. I don't like it, but you can pull it off if you wear the abercrombie, socal surfer look. You can pull it off with some Express polos too. It's not everyone. Birkenstocks? Overrated. It's all about Rainbow sandals here but maybe that's because it's CA I'm in....

I would NEVER wear sweatpants out in public.

To me, if you wear them, you are basically just saying that you give up trying to look presentable and that you are a lazy slob who cannot be bothered to even change clothes after waking up. You are probably just wearing them to the grocery store to get more twinkies, M & Ms, and skim milk.

Would you go out in public wearing sweat pants?

No, although I don't even own any. They are painful for me to wear as the hairs of my legs tend to get twisted and subsequently pulled by the interior surface of the sweatpants when I move my legs.
