My good friend just sold his 95 M3 w/50K miles for $12K.
The car has some issues though. The rear shock towers in the car are not very good. Both of his failed and the shocks went crashing through his trunk (both separately). The water pump has a cheap plastic hose in a strategically bad location (actually all E36 BMWs do) that is prone to breaking. He's had to replace it several times. I had to replace mine on my 95 325i once.
It is a great car but set aside some money for repairs if something goes wrong. He spent quite a bit on unexpected repairs.
Also, one stupid thing he did was get brake dust covers for his rims because the rims get dirty really easily. He didn't drive his car for a while and realized it caused his brakes to rust and his rotors to warp.
