It is one of their new value plans where you have to buy your own phone.

I guess I'm blind. This is what I was looking at, which showed family and not individuals.

So you spend $500 on a phone to save $20/month for 24 months...
Okay so new comparison for me is this:
Verizon: $67/month over 24 months with corporate discount + $200 subsidized high-end phone = $1808
AT&T: $51/month over 24 months with corporate discount + $200 subsidized high-end phone = $1424
Sprint: $66/month over 24 months with corporate discount + $200 subsidized high-end phone = $1784
T-Mobile: $49.99/month over 24 months + $500 for your own
unsubsidized high-end phone = $1700
The $200 subsidized phone shouldn't even be $200.
Wirefly and Amazon does many deals selling them for $50-130 or less very often. Sometimes, even free.
a) Jesus...I didn't expect Sprint to be that expensive...The new $10/month 4G smartphone tax caused that...Wow...So much for them being cheap.
b) I didn't expect AT&T to be that cheap...I thought people said they charge an arm and a leg?
c) Verizon is exactly what I expected...Overpriced. After 7/7, corporate discounts applies only to $50+/month data plans. If they didn't do that, it would have been $61/month. I can't wait for FCC to mandate data sharing among the carriers. No wonder Verizon is suing them.
d) Pre-paid is an option for me and I'm strongly considering it. It needs to be either a high-end phone I like that they sell that's fully unlocked or something I can bring my own device to though.
