Would you ever take a taxi, train or bus?

I know some people take taxis, trains and buses when they go on vacations to save money, but I never would. I remember taking a bus once and feeling so dirty, and I swore I would never sit in a vehicle like that again. So only good rent-a-cars for me, $200+ a day sedans (or coupes).

I saw much of Japan using their bullet trains. Would be silly to rent a car there.
