i would enlist in a second if widescale war occurs.
im better of choosing a job i like in the military than getting drafted and being screwed.

A guy on another forum I'm on went and enlisted yesterday after he heard about the acts of war..

<< not really. i feel i have nothing to offer. i'd like to be a sniper though. that i can do =) >>

Practice with CS? 😉

"Practice with CS?"

I have not shot a gun in a long time. This weekend I had the chance to shoot a rifle and to my suprise I was really good at sniping targets from a distance (just cans and a dollar bill, I don't kill animals). All those years of FPS have paid off in a strange way.

Yes.

Fact is, had my girlfriend or close family been killed in these attacks, I would have signed up yesterday.

personaly, no,
but, for these reasons
when i graduated from HS, i tried to sign up, none of the armed forces would take me, for this reason
when i was 12, and started the whole growth spurt thing, the bones in my legs grew slightly faster than the tendons(i'm 6'6" now) so it caused some slight pain, went to the ortho and he gave me a brace to wear whenever i did physical activity(gym in school) wore it for a year and after that, just fine.
they wouldn't take me cuz of that.
so, i say, you didn't want me then, i don't think i should go now that i've graduated from college, have a good job and things are goin good.

anyone think that's selfish/wrong?
honest opinion?

Tonto...that's sounds acceptible by me. The armed forces wouldn't take me cause I HAD asthma. I've outgrown it and hadn't had an attack for a couple of years. And it's not like I'm not active either. I run cross country, track, play football and basketball. The only reason that I wouldn't enlist now is cause of my dad. He's told me a couple of times that he didn't fight in nam so that his son would have to go through the same thing. Granted it wouldn't be anything like his experience but out of respect for my father I'd have to decline.

I dont think it would get to a large enough scale to where extra people would be necessary. Maybe, but Im thinking not... who knows tho..
