would you eat this?

so, as I was leaving for work this morning, I grabbed a thing of greek yogurt out of my fridge for breakfast.

get to work, put it to the side of my desk, and proceed to do my usual monday morning BS (taking the passdown from the overnight guys in Hong Kong, planning out what I need to do for the day, reading emails, etc)... an hour goes by and I finally have a chance to eat breakfast. grab the container of greek yogurt and discover that it's already partially opened

now I can't figure out if maybe I started opening it without even realizing it this morning and forgot about it or if it's been opened for the past 2 weeks in my fridge :(

it tastes like ass, but greek yogurt always does; I have to dilute it with like half a box of splenda and a tbs or two of sugar free jelly for flavoring.

Why do you get greek yogurt? It seems like you do not like it.

If this were the case, I probably wouldn't eat it in the first place.

it's thicker than normal US yogurt brands and more nutritious... I like starting my day off with something low in calories and high in protein and the taste is tolerable once I throw in some artificial sweeteners.

Can't help but wonder if eating a ton of Splenda offsets the alleged initial nutritional value..

Why would adding Splenda lower the nutritional value of the yogurt?

It isn't "Greek". This sort of yogurt - also called curd - is made all over the middle East and South Asia. Western Yogurt is *nothing* compared to it. In India, they even mix it with sugar and bake it slightly. Phe-nom-in-al.

I ended up not eating it, btw... took a couple bites and thought it had a funny aftertaste. maybe it was all in my head, but I tossed it and got a bag of peanuts from the vending machine to have for breakfast instead.

You're focusing on losing weight, right? You should definitely eat it. Worst thing that happens, you get dysentery, and that is great for shedding the pounds.

That is actually Eastern European style yogurt.

Here in Canada that yogurt is 8% milk fat.

ORLY?

Edit: whatever the correct name - we buy it at Costco, and it is delectable.

why?

Artificial sweeteners taste like ick to me. (though I'll admit that the combination of
aspartame and acesulfame potassium that they have in Coke Zero is tolerable.)
I prefer sugar or corn syrup.

I can't stand the smell of Yogurt, so I won't eat it. Only way is when it's used as a base for some Indian curries. But that's not the same thing as what you're talking about I don't think.

Isn't splenda just a bunch of syntheic chemicals? Some of us don't like engineered "food" products. I'd rather stop drinking soda or eating sugary snacks and enjoy real sugar in moderation. But then again, I'm not the type to put sugar in greek yogurt. I'd rather put dill a cucumber and other goodies in it and use it to dress a delicious fish.
