They are so not just cross breeding fish.
If you think we could do it by natural means why do you think we havent?
Probably because the money and market wasn't there for it.

I haven't a problem as long as they are raised inland and landlocked. I'd give it a shot and would buy it based on price and taste.
????????
We dont (cant) cross breed cattle with frogs.
The difference in the above example is less than some of the ones under trial at the moment.
That's fine, but they aren't breeding cattle with frogs. They are combining fish. We cross breed different types of cattle, dogs, and yes even fish with other breeds to obtain specfic traits.
cross breeding is one thing, this is not cross breeding. this is splicing in a specific gene for a specific trait. The study used by the fda was provided by the same company that did the splicing. there should also be a study from an independent source to either back up or refute those findings.
like the line from jurasic park:
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
Not true. While the vast majority of Atlantic salmon is farm raised, wild Atlantic salmon can also be had and will be labeled as such.
And you would be incorrect - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_salmon
Plus, the FDA can't mandate a label on such genetically manufactured fish.
FDA is on verge of allowing fish to market.
Would you eat such a fish?
In this case, I likely would eat said fish without knowing it.
