Would you eat fast food at 2:00 am?

While I have done it countless times, I wonder if its a really a good idea to eat fast food at 2:00 am and beyond. Ive worked in fast food when I was a teen and I know when its close to closing, nothing is fresh. Heck if something was around from 10 or 11pm, thats what you get. In fairness, some places did have policies that beyond a certain time of sitting out it gets tossed, but if you run into enough angry customers at 1:45am, somehow that policy doesnt work.

Do you do it anyway?

Yea why wouldn't I? It's the only thing open at that time.

Well, like I said, unless its a 24 hour joint like Jack In the Box or Whataburger, you are probably going to get some really old food and not even now it. But I guess if youre hungry enough you wont mind.

That's why i always CUSTOMIZE my order.. no pickles/no ketchup on the burger ... no salt on the fries..

They HAVE to make it fresh.

Would I eat fast food at 2:00am? That all depends on this - am I hungry and am I willing to drive/get to a fast food place? If yes.... then yes.

I don't think the fast food I get at a fast food place is better at any time of the day vs another - It's always probably on the bad side.

Fast food is bad at any time of day.

But yeah, it's great to come out of a bar or club at 3:00 in the morning and go grab a nice, greasy, slice of pizza or something. Who doesn't love to do that from time to time?

Ummm... Just because you customize doesn't mean the ingredients are fresh. I don't think any FF place keeps completed sandwiches in the chute anymore.

if I'm eating fast food at 2 am, I'm probably not in a state of mind where I particularly care about freshness, but if it was a 24-hour place, I'd just ask for a burger/bun fresh off the grill. people did that at the burger king I worked at in high school... if you don't do that, you're going to get something that's been sitting in the warmer for awhile no matter how else you customize your burger. (we'd keep X number of things premade ready to go on the warming tray up front for the cashiers to grab for standard orders and then the warming tray in back was filled with just plain burgers/buns ready to be used for whatever, but management was pretty on top of throwing something out once it was older than whatever the policy was... I forget, 20 minutes?)

I can't imagine being worried about food poisoning at any major restaurant, the money you'd make from suing them would more than make up for the temporary discomfort.
