I'm also not paranoid about different cultural attitudes about hygiene. It IS true that different cultures have different opinions of hygiene and what is considered proper hygiene. Just look at the bathing practices of the Japanese, widely considered one of the cleanest cultures on earth. And it is also true that people born in poor countries often have poor hygiene practices. But it doesn't bother me one bit and I don't generalize groups of people by their hygienic practices or lack there of. I lived in Asia as a young child and remember it well, I'be also travelled widely since.

I think ATOT definitively showed that this is 100% true. Most common argument was "my penis is cleaner than the bathroom therefore I shouldn't need to wash after touching my penis"

Restaurants have a ton of disgusting things going on behind the scenes that you hope you never see. An Italian place near me had a girl cleaning a counter with food gloves on, and immediately after she made a sandwich with the same gloves on.
