Say you saw an scraggly, scrony homeless guy..who was holding two 5 gallon paint buckets full of his lifes possestions. Put him up in a hotel for a day to get cleaned up...buy him a razor...shave cream...toothbrush etc etc??

I almost did today but just gave him $ because I did'nt want him in my lincoln all smelly and stuff plus I did'nt know what to do the next day with him. Is thier a place to go for jobs for these people?...Maybe next time.

No, because he probably wants sex too.

Well if you cleaned him *really* well you might as well get something out of it too.

Hey, sex with the homeless is very adult. ;)

I've actually thought about that idea though (helping them, getting them a room & job, etc...not the sex thing) and wonder why more people don't do that.

I don't know why only cost about $100 which is nothing to me and most people that have a job it;s nothing... Might make a difference though to them.

Maybe they do...that's why I'm asking..

No kidding. You could really turn someone's life around & give them a second chance for a minimal cost.

or you could spend that money and see them down on the sidewalk outside the grocery store no later than 7 am the next day asking for change to get a bottle of thunderbird.

I would have bought him a forty ounce bottle of booze, a pack of butts, and sent him on his merry way, and that would have been my good deed of the day.

Well... here's a little bum story...

Me and my grandfather was walking down the road once in Rhode Island, and we passed a bum with a sign that says "Homeless; please help" or something to that sort, it was probably two or three years ago. My grandfather looked at him and told him to get a job, bum! However, we walked further and passed a man that held a sign reading "Will work for Food" and my grandfather took $300 cash from his wallet and gave it to the man, telling him to use it to help him get started. I gave the man my Abercrombie hoodie as he had nothing but a ragged shirt on his back, and I also felt for the man.

I don't know how he is today, maybe that $300 was enough to feed him and get him some government housing or something.
