Would you consider it shallow?

if you were not interested in a guy or girl who smokes?

I say it's for health reasons....but some friends of mine tell me it's still shallow of me....

but i wouldn't consider that shallow.....

your thoughts?

no, its your choice in who you are interested in. If smoking is a turn off to you who are your friends to decide that it shouldnt be.

it's funny, i never thought I'd date/go after anyone that smokes... but here I am, doing just that. but she doesn't heavily smoke.

but to answer your question, no, it's not shallow. shallow would be not dating someone who doesn't shop at banana republic or something. I wonder if anyone is actually like that.....

as per example from a pervious thread....what about a nose stub?

"Kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray."

As a reformed smoker who has been smoke free for 2+ years, I am much happier with myself now. My clothes don't stink like smoke, my car doesn't smell like smoke, I have more money to spend because I don't smoke, and I can taste foods better than I could when I was smoking.

Having said that, I wouldn't consider seeing someone who was a smoker at this point.

I don't like being around anyone who smokes. My friend from Canada visited for a week, I didn't know how much he smoked. Every half hour at least he had to take a break from whatever to go outside and have a smoke. What a pain in the ass.

Your friends are stupid.

Behavior is an indicator of personality. It is, aparently, important for you NOT to be attracted to a person who would willingly engage in smoking.

I fail to see how this is shallow.

Nope, not shallow. I hate being around people that are smoking, but I've been involved with a few smokers...strange.

If I see a gal for the first time and think: "Whoa--Fox!", but then see her smoking, I don't waste my time even trying.
