Lets say Anne Rice style vampires, not twinkly emo vampires.

I asked my wife this awhile ago, and she actually said no! Apparently feeding upon people and never seeing the sun was a big deal for her. I say, a small price to pay for immortality. Plus, you get the vampire powers. As near as I can tell, Anne Rice's vampires also could not cut there hair if that is a big deal to you.

Actually, I wouldn't mind being a faggy twinkly vampire. You'd get all the benefits of Vampirism without the most important drawback.

The no sunlight thing makes being a vampire no fun. Even if you're nocturnal, not being able to go out at all in sunlight makes for a pretty important curfew. And mid-summer you're only allowed out of the house for a few hours.

I suppose moving to Alaska or someplace where its night for 6+ months is possible, but those places tend to be cold and yucky.

Lack of sunshine makes me depressed.

So as a vampire I would live forever and be depressed about it... no thanks.

I think the no sun thing would be a deal breaker for me. I love the sun. And the whole drink blood thing is pretty yucky. I'd miss real food, Thanksgiving dinner, summer BBQs, birthday cake, pizza.😀

Yeah. That would at least mostly solve the main problem I'm having with this life...the fact that it has a definite end in the 70-100 year range. Drinking blood would be tough though. It seems like it would be very hard to acquire enough inconspicuously if you had to drink every night. Doubly so if you entertain the notion that you are a "good" vampire.

I voted no now because I'm still fairly young though that may change over the years as I get older. I'd like to get as much sun exposure now as I can but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make in exchange for flying abilities, mind reading and other jedi super powers. 😛

Drinking blood is the drawback though but I do have the choice of drinking animal blood.

I like human life at the moment, so if I did it would only be at the end of my "life". Then I could start a new vampire life, having had a long and fulfilling human life with no regrets.

Missing the sun and food are bad...but being a vampire is suppose to kind of suck, a lot of you guys are laming out on a hypothetical question. With eternal life, you can build wealth fairly easy. You're also a badass. You can watch history unfold. Human life is short, and much of it will be spent in a physical decline. And if you don't want to feed on humans, you can feed on animals. Louie did it for some time, and feeding on rats was how they traveled on ships.

definitely. you don't have to kill people, you can bespell them and then have a few sips and move on. also, flight, that's probably enough for me to buy in. immortality is just a bonus. daylight is highly overrated.

No.

I've had more than my share of pain watching people I love be murdered, die to diseases or other such horrible fates. Going through that as many times as I have, is enough for me. I wouldn't want to go through that endlessly.
