Exactly. Just because I say it doesn't make it true, and just because you disagree with me doesn't make it untrue. You can hate me all you want but that doesn't change reality. Just make sure that what you perceive as reality is correct or you'll end up somewhere you don't want to be.

So, you're saying that because I don't condemn homosexuals I'm going to hell?

How do you know that what you perceive is correct? Because you read it in a book that was written by man thousands of years ago and translated hundreds of times over the ages?

If he died today I'd have no regrets. I've been as close to him as I care to be and we've had some good times together.

He's always moving about every 6 months halfway across the country or to Canada, so I only see him once a year anyway.

That's not what I said. I didn't say anyone here was going to hell. I also didn't say my perception of reality was correct, but I believe it is.

I'm not telling you what to believe, you can read whatever books you choose and observe the world however you want and develop your own sense of reality.

By the way, I wouldn't accept something 'a man' wrote in a book. I do accept something that man wrote under inspiration by God. Again, I know you don't agree with that and we'll never arrive at an agreement on it.

And I don't mind your opinion as long as you aren't the type to drag me out into the middle of no where, tie me to a fence, and beat me to death because of it.

Nope, I wouldn't, actually I'd do all I could to prevent it as I would for any stranger I saw getting abused.

Like I said I don't hate you.

3 that I know of. My grandpa is. I think he is sick and disgusting too.

You see, I'm a Christian and I try to live by the Bible's standards. I know no one else here does, so no one else here will see this the way I do. According to the Bible this is unacceptable.

So, how do you feel about your grandfather? Do you love him? Hate him? Sounds like you have a lot of anger and hatred toward gay people.

I hate their lifestyle, not the people. I love my grandpa in the way that I want him to be Saved and see that what he's doing is wrong, but until then I'm not going to try to hang out with him and spend more time with him than is necessary. I don't hate Zycowhateverheis, I hate his lifestyle.

I try not to hate people, that's not Christlike. I'm human so I may mess up sometimes, but I try.

Honor thy Father and Mother? I honor my grandpa as much as he deserves, I could say a lot of good about him. He's a great guy, always willing to help people out and overall one of the nicest people I know.

I dare you to show me where Jesus says one thing against gays.

So you are a self proclaimed homophobe who honestly believes that he loves these people, but in reality doens't want anything to do with them? Boy, that is really Christ-like behavior my friend. <sarcasm> Don't bring your conservative fundamentalist ideas as the foundation of Christianity. God is the only one that has the right to condemn people, who are you to judge these people. If you really want to be Christ-like, then spend more time with "sinners" (and recognize that you are just as much of a sinner and don't deserve any grace as much as anyone else <including gay people> ). I have a few gay friends myself, and I would say that they are very compassionate people, who (although partly because they wish to compensate) are very socially aware. Of course, I am generalizing from the 3-4 people that I know who are gay. They know and understand that I am a Christian and that I believe that it is biblically wrong (alot of things are biblically wrong <you don't see the Fundie right going after adulterers as hard as homosexuals which is totally hypocritical BTW> ). It doesn't mean that I necessarily agree with their lifestyle but I do recognize them as a fellow human being, who has just as many faults as I have (although different). It also doesn't mean that I am going to proseletyze to them any chance I get which I am guessing you probably do whenever you get a chance with your g-father (based on your judgemental posts). It isn't our purpose to judge others, but our job is to show them compassion and love.

Um... no... I didn't say I wanted nothing to do with them. As a matter of fact the other 2 people I said I knew are friends and I do occasionally spend time with them. Quit reasing into things I didn't say.

Don't bring your conservative fundamentalist ideas as the foundation of Christianity. God is the only one that has the right to condemn people, who are you to judge these people. I am a sinner and not proud of it. I don't deserve God's grace any more than gays do. My initial comment was that his lifestyle makes me sick, I didn't condemn him. I happen to think that you could be saved and gay at the same time.

I have a few gay friends myself, and I would say that they are very compassionate people, who (although partly because they wish to compensate) are very socially aware. I believe I already covered that when I said I would be willing to protect him, being gay, the same as I would anyone else.

No I want you to say...

"I don't understand homosexuality. How can one man find another man attractive. It doesn't make sense to me. I find women attractive. Everyone is different, I know this, but I cannot see the appeal of it. You can do as you please I suppose, the same way I can, but I will never understand why you do so."

to which I would reply...

"I completely understand how you don't understand homosexuality. You are not homosexual. I respect your opinion and hope we can find some common ground on this subject that leads us both to a better understanding of each other."

Ok, I'll agree with that. I, myself, agree with that and if I were an atheist it would end there, but my God says it's wrong. If you don't believe in my God then you have nothing to worry about. I'm not telling you you're wrong, I'm telling you my God says it's wrong.

Muslims say I'm wrong. Most people here say I'm wrong. Obviously, someone's wrong but we all believe we're right.
