Would you charge to install a video card into your girlfriend's cousin's computer?

Nocturnal

My girlfriend's cousin, who is a few years younger that me, asked if I would install a video card when he gets it. My girlfriend told him yes, but for a fee. Now my girlfriend told him $20.00 and the cousin agreed. But I felt kinda bad asking for money, like I always do, and kinda was thinking about it and trying to come up with something else. The cousin works but doesn't work a lot. He also attends school and what not.

I was just wondering...........

Would you charge to install it or not?

For perhaps 15-20 minutes of work, doing something that I could easily do blindfolded / in my sleep? No, I would not take payment. I would gladly accept a nice, cold beer in payment, however.

Life time supply of cigarettes to calm your nerves. 😉

I wouldn't charge cash. But maybe a dinner, item, or something else other than the Green.

I would rather not accept payment, but since your GF is the one who brought up money maybe you should go ask her about it and tell her that it's no big deal and see what she thinks about it.

Yes, the lunch idea is what I had in mind. He works at McDonalds so I told her to just scratch the $ idea and see if he can bring home a number eight or something.

Don't forget to show him how to do it as you install it for him... everyone has to start somewhere, and showing him might help him get over any fears of installing other things himself.

Very good idea, thanks. I will definately show him how to do it. I totally agree that everyone has to start somewhere and this would be a good place for him to start. Maybe I can even just walk him through it as he installs it himself. I don't see how it would hurt. Hey thanks for the great idea.
