Dont recommend pirating xp, i simply wont do it. Is there anything that is a better deal/performance? I am getting the xms because i have heard many horror stories about the corsair vs not working with the dfi because it doesnt work at the high voltages that the dfi board demands. Anything else that you would improve/change other than the case? Thanks.

this memory. and why are you getting xp pro, i truely doubt you'll use any of the features that differentiate it from home (i don't on my home pc)

why that ram. its value ram and im using xms ram, wont my ram work better? or will that ocz be better and cheaper?

That OCZ will run 2-2-2 timings up to 240 MHz if you give it enough volts. It is only rated at 2.6, but you have to give it around 3.0-3.4 to get the b etter timings. Only some boards can do that high of voltages (such as your DFI).

I assume this is a gaming rig? You may want to look into a faster monitor. There are many 12ms and 8 ms monitors that can be had in that price range. Maybe you should look at the Dell 1905FP. When the next sale hits, they should go under $300. You could also look at the 1704FP, which is a little cheaper. Also check out the samsung 730B, there were a few rebates on it a week or two ago, don't knw if those are still floating around. Those dells have a DVI connection (which will carry a better picture with less distortion). The samsung does not, but is still a great monitor.

Have you seen the Thermaltake Tsunami in person?
A feel of it's material quickly give me the idea of a "rip off".

I'm happy w/ my TT Tsunami, it tells you right in the description its pretty thin alu w/ a plastic bezil. still looks good and cool great + its quiet along w/ my seasonic 600watt psu :), Personly I'd suggest a Seasonic S12 PSU and possibly a white DVD drive or black floppy (just make em match)

The Tsunami is a nice case. I think the biggest complaint is just from the screwless PCI locks.
I alos agree that you should go with OCZ RAM for that MB. Everything I've read says that it just really likes OCZ.

low latancy RAM doesnt do anything. but if you want to waste your money go ahead...

I think OCZ do some inexpensive VX stuff which is basically untested higher end stuff.
Might want to look at that.

Anandtech recently did a round up of both various budget memories, and of more expensive ones.
G.Skill and Musking bmight be worth looking at as well.
You might also be able to get the graphics card for cheaper elsewhere, there was a link from monarch for an X800XL at $250. Can't remember if it was AGP or PCIe though.

dfi requires 480watts and native 24 pin. need to beef up power supply a little. corsair doesnt work to well with dfi nforce 4 boards. requires alot of tweaking for some reason.

someone already posted the link to the memory... the memory requires a burn in period though.. to run at its best.. u might wanna head over to dfi-street.com and see what people are doing over there

I'd go for a bigger and better PSU, if you're going to want to upgrade down the line, which I'm sure will most likely be your video card. I don't think next-gen video cards will be happy with 430 Watts. If July comes around and ewiz.com is offering one of their special deals on the Seasonic s12 units, go with the 500W one for $100.
