I know the voices in your head are loud but, we can't hear them. You haven't weighed in to the OP's question so, I have no idea what your point of reference is.

I don't think most corporate drones (which I consider myself) actually hate everybody they work for or hate their jobs every day. I thought your characterization was a little hyberbolic, but to your point, all I have is my own exerpience, so whatever.

I believe he is talking about someone like me. In general, I really don't care for what I do and I really dislike our new management. Unfortunately I'm stuck for a few months at a minimum until I figure something else out.

This might sound sexist, but, it depends if it's a male or female.

Critique a female, even in the nicest, most professional way, and you could have an enemy for life.

Critique a male, and they are either goin to blow it off cuz they don't give a shit, or might actually become more aware of their own performance and pick it up a little bit. I've even seen some males go from shitty to awesome employees just via a little kick of peer/management pressure.

No, I insist on keeping it to 40 hrs/week unless I am trying to hit a deadline.

I do it even when they are pulling their weight, or when I estimate that they are since I have no way of knowing because it doesn't affect me. It may eventually be a position that I want a friend of mine in, so I like keeping the people around me on shaky ground.

I worked with a guy like him at my last employer -- the kind of guy that would resort to backstabbing and tried to blow up any issue into a major issue in order to make himself look good. Let's just say that when I found out about it, he didn't last much longer.
