do it if you have the money and want to be limited to 8 players...12 player warcraft or 32 player cs, quake3, wolf, etc. is *always* better *if* you don't wanna sit alone getting serious with ffx, gt3 or mgs2. it's all up to you at the end.

I wouldn't know what I would do with out my PS2, even though I have the system I do (sig)...

Definetely if you want it, go for it, especially since you don't have to invest in games.

Well, I'd say no but that's a biased answer because I'm a PC gamer. It has so much more interactivity and control than a console. But a console is true "plug and play" - no installation, no patches, driver issues, no hassle. They both have their pros and cons.

There was a time when I once wanted an Xbox and Gamecube too. But I don't care for either of them anymore... give it time, and you will get over it. And a lot of the good console games are also available on the PC such as max payne. Medal of Honor, I think, has a upcoming PS2 version that is not gonna be a port from the PC (a whole new game) but it should be similar to the PC version.

On a more practical side: 2 MONTHS SALARY! dont you want to eat, man?

Well personally there are games i normally want to play on a PC and also games i want to play on a Console. Click the link in my Sig and you will see ive got a pretty fast machine by most standards but there are some games i prefer on a console. Like the Final Fantasy Series, Metal Gear Series etc.

I would as I want some of the games for it, for example is Grandia2 being released in a couple of days here and that's a game that I'd been wanting since it appeared on DC for example (that was one of the main reasons for me wanting a DC along with Sakura Wars).

If you already have a pretty good PC, then a console is more of a luxury than anything else. I just got a P4 rig, and I am glad I spend the money on the P4/mobo/RAM than the PS2. I can do so much with a PC, and PS2 is basically a console than can watch DVDs.

If you had the money, get one. It is awesome. I don't have the money, so I just go over to my friends and play every once in awhile. So it is really up to you, do you really need one?

The only thing intriguing about a PS2 is the Final Fantasy series. I have a very good system now(see sig), and even with FF, I have little desire to buy a Ps2, or any other console, for that matter.
