would you buy a refurbished DSLR?

it depends who does the refurbin' - if its a 3rd party that refurbishes it, then maybe not.. but if it, say gets refurbed from canon themselves, then that would be no problem 🙂

In my case, I didn't buy direct from Canon but from a seller through Amazon who said it was certified Canon refurb. I have fingers crossed it really is. It shipped yesterday. I'm hopeful because the seller said exactly:

Certified Refurbished from Canon!!

Hope it also has all the standard accessories!

I bought a Canon T2i directly from Canon through their loyalty program. It came with the same warranty as new and looked brand new as well. That was about 1 1/2 years ago, and I've had no problems. At the time it was about $140 cheaper than the best deal new.

I bought a Canon lens from Adorama recently and it might as well be new. I've never considered a refurb body.

Why? Just curious.

How do you find refurbs? I went to Adorama, and it's not obvious. At or near the top of my wishlist right now are:

Pentax K-x
Sony A330

Choosing is another thread, but I couldn't find a way to see if they have refurbs for them at Adorama. How might I go about finding them?

Arrived yesterday. It's genuine Canon refurb, looks as new to me, complete with all accessories. Canon ELPH 100 HS.

Why Sony A330?

I don't remember, I went ahead and bought the Pentax K-x, am very happy with it. It wasn't a refurb, but probably weren't any available at that time. The camera was pretty fresh on the market.

There's been a few cases like that for canon too, but usually they will take it right back and give you another one.

your experience esp. with Adorama is very rare.

Normally one wouldn't do a review at the point you did and would have called and explained your situation.
