In your opinion.

Luckily, its doubtful you know anything about Industrial rock or you wouldn't say their overrated. Besides, NIN isn't a band except when they play live. Its Trent Reznor and who ever else he wishes to work with, this time around he did a lot of work with Dave Grohl along with the usual suspects. Once again, you would know that if you knew anything about NIN.

I know thier music is annoying. I don't need to study the history of industrial rock to know the song is grating and repetetive.

While I'll agree, I don't like the song much at it's first listen, I wouldn't go so far to say they're overrated. Maybe you're seeing some media making them out to be something crazy, but no one I know holds them on some pedestal (and I'm a big fan). Some of their stuff is really good, some of it may hit a note with you if you're in the right kind of mood, and some of it is just noise for the sake of noise. Everyone's got an opinion I guess :) I'm just looking forward to hearing the rest, hope that some of it has more substance.

Nope, they (and especially he) are still overrated. Every song is the same (his dark, yawning chasm of personal pain, blah, blah, blah). Sorry but I just don't feel sorry for the poor little millionaire whos managed to convince all the 12 year old girls his ridiculous pot-banging is actually a form of music.

Just because it has a fake industrial drumbeat behind it doesn't mean he's not a whiny little crybaby.

I don't particularly like the song, but I don't mind hearing it on the radio.

OK, well I can talk all the sh!t I want about you too, even though I don't know anything about you. You know what I think, I think you are Fred, your just afraid to admit it. :p

The fact is - how can you know that they, as a band, are overrated if you didn't even know that its pretty much a one man band. The music isn't meant for everybody, and it isn't even meant to be played with the other regurgitated rock you hear on the radio. Thats why you don't like it, your used to the other mindless crap.

Once again, its your opinion and your opinion doesn't matter. Now if you were knowledgable in the world of Industrial Rock, and the kind of music Trent makes as a whole. And then used that knowledge to put some constructive criticism down and point out various flaws, or other musical elements that you didn't like - then your opinion would matter to people. They might step back and say, "You know, I think he has a point." Instead you've made absolutely no argument against your hatred for the "band" and used one song to pretty much write them off as overrated. And like I said, its obvious you don't know what your talking about.

Here is a clue - next time the song comes on - turn the radio OFF. Then you wouldn't waste other people's time when they feel the obligation to point out what a moron you are.

You can attack me all you want, but it's not going to make the song sound any better.

The fact that it's a one man band doesn't make the song better.

The fact that I'm not "knowledgable in the world of Industrial Rock" doesn't make the song better.

There's nothing you can say about me that's going to make Trent Reznor's song sound better.

God damn this song is annoying. NIN is one of the most overrated bands ever.

Every band is overrated. Except They Might Be Giants, of course.

I'm guessing you've reached this level of annoyance with the song because you didn't care for it to begin with, and now all the typical mass media outlets are deluging you with it.

You have your opinion, I didn't post to change it.

I posted to invalidate it for what it is, typical hate for something that you care nothing about any way.

If you were a previous NIN fan, and felt this album was overhyped, overrated, and you just didn't like it AND gave at least one decent reason why - I would have respected your opinion.

As it stands, you were probably never a NIN fan, probably never liked their/his music - and have no real reason to have made this post in the first place.

I hate American Idol. I hate a lot of the Punk Music thats played on my local Rock stations, but luckily technology has made it easy for us to simply change the station. Or not to watch it in the first place, as with my first example. If you are unfamiliar with this technology, look into it. Its really quite amazing.

Here's my question. How old do you have to be and how rich do you have to be before teenagers stop listening to you complain about how much your life sucks?
