May just be the pics, but those close up shots don't seem to have any definition in the shine. Looks muddy. Check out the pics in Durocs link, ther reflections are crisp.

Yeah that's how it looks to me. I guess there's a bit of "you get what you pay for" at work here. Still a nice job, though.

I was trying to find someone to paint my car for around the amount you are talking. I had no body work-just needed to be primed and blocked out before topcoating. My car is in the paint shop now on a "we'll do it in between collision work" deal. Price? $9,600 for a bright red-no metallic job. Car has vinyl top so no roof paint either and I had it mostly disassembled when I brought it to the guy. VERY HARD to find a deal on paint anymore. -Bob
Gawddamn. Is it me or did that guy get ripped? I've heard a good full paint job will run $3-4K. One of my Dad's employee's family runs a couple body shops, so they hooked me up and did collision repair (one fender plus numerous small dents) and a full paint job with primer, several clear coats, the works for $1100.

I'd be willing to try it on my Beetle. It's a 73 Super Beetle, so it's not worth a whole lot to begin with, and any paint job would be better than what it's got now.

I use to go drive-in hopping in my buddies new Charger in the 60?s. Those cars didn?t look that good when they were new from the dealer.
