Drug testing has been the norm in the construction industry for nearly 30 years. I don't remember a job where I didn't have to pass a pre-employment piss test, and I was always part of the random test pool. Plus, any sort of accident always sent the entire crew for drug testing, even when only one person was actually at fault.

That's what got me thinking about this. One of my bosses posted on facebook that he got some antibiotics because he's been out sick. I replied with "I <3 drugs!"

Then like 30 seconds later our HR manager commented on his status

Luckily the only drugs I do are prescription. I kind of hope I do get to take one just so I can prove to everyone at work that I'm not on drugs...just nuts

Well I wouldn't be concerned in the sense that I would pass it. I had to take one upon being hired anyway. However, I would be concerned if it wasn't part of some standard protocol (e.g., random drug tests on random employees) since it would imply I did something that would suggest I needed a test.
