$275, no way i'd ship first and risk it to only 30 heatware...

next time, be a little creative when something is not working out. I have thought of this: get a n AT member with well reputation + great amount of heat(200+) to do an escrow. it will work out with no problem assuming payment is in paypap non-cc.

When I used to sell things on the FS forum, I'd ask the seller if they're willing to ship first. If they say no, then I'll decide whether I want to take the risk of paying first or not. I, personally, would never ship first unless the item was inconsequential. I would never part with a $275 item without payment.

Having said that, his response was a tad pompous. But you should have taken the high ground and left it at that. Instead, you chose to take offense to it and started attacking him. So, no, you're not innocent here either.

Going by his logic, if you buy something from Amazon you should receive the product before paying for it. But it doesn't work that way.

Meh, neither of you have very good Heat. I wouldn't ship first to someone with 30 positive heat, and I wouldn't fork over a load of cash to someone with 10. I say no deal all around.

Amazon is a reputable trader, with thousands upon thousands of products sold. The OP has forty, including eBay (which is nearly worthless, since you get eBay feedback from buying with a CC on half.com).

Big difference there..

Doesn't apply. You're guaranteed your product from Amazon. You are not guaranteed your product on FS/FT.

Yes, Amazon is a reputable "trader". But if someone asked them to pay AFTER the product is shipped to them, they'd get laughed at by the company.

We're going in circles. Amazon is not a "trader" in any sense of the word as used in FS/FT. You are 100% guaranteed not to get ripped off or scammed by Amazon.com. The same cannot be said for any buyer/seller/trader in FS/FT.

Again, you're guaranteed the product from Amazon. Incidentally, they do not charge your credit card until the item is shipped (that is, they're not supposed to). You do not 'pay first', as many assume.

If I found a $400 item for sale by someone with 10 Heat evals, I would ask for them to ship first - I might put some up front, but there is no way that I would pay all $400 up front. If I was purchasing said item from someone with significant Heatware/reputation (purplehippo comes to mind), I would not hesitate to pay first.

wow, i only step into FS/T a few times now.. it's been a while. But damn.. what happened to the good ol' days... I miss AGN 🙁

i'll add my opinion that your second PM initiated hostility. And the reply's from the buyer weren't warranted either, s/he should have just dropped it. However, w/ that said, I can see how the first PM from the buyer could be seen as possibly negative... it should have been worded a bit differently.

In the end, nobody wins, move on, sell to someone else.
