Would you audition for Fear Factor?

The TV show Fear Factor is auditioning here in Atlanta this weekend and I'm thinking about going. I haven't seen the show on TV (mostly because I never watch TV), but the people I work with tell me about it when it comes on.

The stunts don't seem too bad and given the right motivation ($$$), I'll eat just about anything. So, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to try to be on the show.

Has anyone here ever auditioned for anything similar? What are my chances of getting on 1 in 100 or more like 1 in 2000? Is there a 'look' that they go for and how would one dress to go to the audition?

The closest thing I've ever done to this is be an extra in a music video, so I'm really at a loss here. I'm sure the Anandtech collective has some good advice.

i was an extra in the movie "forces of nature" (i know it sucked)

as for the fear factor thing- i say go for it. what have you got to lose?

They get "attractive" people, so if you dont fit the bill, I wouldnt even try. I haven't seen a person I'd consider unattractive on there yet. (this is no way a slam on you, just my observations).

I considered it. Until I saw last nights episode. They had to eat buffalo testicles. These things were MASSIVE, and it didn't look too bad, until the first guy's SQUIRTED. It was disgusting. He just munched away, like he was eating a steak. The two women backed out, but both guys stayed and ate them. The first guy ended up winning the cash, and IMO, he earned it.

I would say go for it though, what's the worst you have to lose?

yeah, thats him.. What ever happened to news radio? that was a good show.

Newsradio was a lot like &quot;Family Guy&quot; An awesome show, but it wasn't mainstream enough to stay afloat. One of the last episodes, ironiclly enough, was a spoof on &quot;Titanic&quot;.

The show did suffer after Phil Hartman was murdered. But it was still pretty good :|

No kidding, and each week, the stuff they have to eat gets worse and worse. I figure its just a matter of time before they have to eat human flesh.

Hehe, either that, or get some venison or other exotic meat, season it, and TELL them its human flesh

I just watched it last night for the first time. I think they should be paying more money for some of those things! Guh.

I would eat human flesh without a problem compared to worms, bugs or testicles.

I've eaten worms before...not that bad actually, you just chew a couple times and swallow, don't even think about what you're eating.

That show is silly. There is nothing particulary dangerous about any of their stunts. No t.v. executive would green light the show if there was danger. The potential lawsuits wouldn't be worth it. For example, when they had to sit in a box full of rats. Do you think they were starving sewer rats or well fed lab rats used to human contact?

So what is left to do? conquer personal &quot;issues&quot; such as a reluctance to eat bull testicles... whoopeee effing do.

I'd have ate them until I saw the one guys squirt. That just looked nasty...

I've seen a few, don't know why I watch it.

The trials are not that difficult. The only thing I wouldn't have done was last nights eat the buffalo balls, those were too big and gross looking, I guess it was seeing the vein marks that did it for me.

I say don't go. They should cancel the show until they learn the difference between fear and disgust.

Exactly, most of the trials don't have anything to do with fear. Most are just to see who will do the most disgusting things...more along the lines of &quot;What would you do for $50,000?&quot;.
