Get something slower. You don't want to wreck a perfectly good car in your first year of driving..why can't you settle for a 'normal' car, like most people have to? *sigh*

It wouldn't make you a ricer unless you made a bunch of stupid modifications to it that didn't really help other than to make it louder and more annoying.

Yes it would be better than the Cobra, but not by a whole hell of a lot. Still RWD, and if it's the Turbo version then it's still rather powerful. RWD isn't as bad as people make it out to be, but it's still not the best choice for a new driver if you live somewhere that gets a serious winter.

No we just think you're an incredible goober for not having good judgment or common sense.

If this is your first car, DO NOT GET A SPORTS CAR.

First, your insurance premiums will be ridiculous.
Second, you are more likely to kill yourself when the testosterone takes over, which it will.
Third, you are many times more likely to get a ticket. See statement #1.

The Mk3 Turbo Supra only makes 230 HP and is not really known for it's handling, I don't really see how it's better than a Cobra.

i think you should get a tricyle...sporty, RWD, and very reliable...you can even get soem tassles for the handle bar grips..

overall you can u can still pick up kindergarden chicks since from your first car choices seem to be where your maturity level is :p

im just messing with you..seriously getting a sports car when ur young is cool but unless u have been driving awhile it may be too much car for you...that and i think ur insurance payments are going to be throguh the roof...why dont you get a regular mustang ..use that for a year or two then get the cobra....

it'll be a while before i actually buy. i think ATOT should prepare for a barrage of posts asking about various cars on various days of the week. and i should probably prepare to get shot down on various cars during various days of the week.

no, most of them thing you're dumb for wanting a sports car as your first car. Learn to drive something decent, don't get a sports car and then wreck it because you don't know what you're doing...

Getting a fast car as your first car is like... Well, it's like getting a fast motorcycle as your first motorcycle.

Why rag on him if you know nothing about him? I had a "sports car" as my first car, less than a year of driving. In 6 years of driving I've had 1 parking violation on my record. Not all kids with fresh licenses are speed racers. Only he knows for sure if he's responsible enough to handle a car like that.

I wanted a sporty car as my first car...not necessarily a Supra or Cobra (I don't make near enough money)..was thinking maybe a CRX Si..etc..I ended up with a '98 Corolla. Great car, great mileage, insurance is affordable, and it's reliable as heck..

Out of curiosity, what was it? Mustang Cobra...?

No, we're serious, believe it or not we've been there and I for one know many a kid that's wrecked their cars, some that needed surgery to patch them back together and were lucky they weren't killed. They would have been safer in slower, larger cars. Did they listen? No... Are they sorry? Yes...

You ask us what we think and we are telling you the honest answer. Get comfortable driving first before you get something fast. Your life expectancy will thank you.

And don't tell us you'll drive responsibly, if you honestly drive responsibly, don't speed, and do everything carefully you will not really notice the difference between an old grandpa car or a sports car. You get a fast car because you will push the limits. If you're not going to, why spend the money on it? And don't say once and a while won't hurt you. My friends only messed around once and a while, most of them were really good drivers, but even once when you haven't driven much is VERY dangerous. Really, don't tempt yourself. If you do, do it on an empty road so you don't take out anybody but yourself. You're seriously trying to prove darwin right.

A 300Zx 2+2, probably on par with the MK3 Supra he's talking about.

EDIT: NVM, I just noticed he said 6 speed, which means MK4 Supra. Still, it's probably on par with a non-turbo MK4 Supra.

His earlier thread was asking about an SVT Mustang Cobra..if that gives you any idea what he's looking for...before a Cobra, now a Supra..wonder what's next..
