Also that 1000W power supply is overkill as well. Do you have high end speakers or need the extra connections that the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty provides to warrant the extra cost of it?

Add two more of those 4GB DDR3 kits for a total of 12GB in triple channel mode.

Step up to the Dell 3008WFP for some beautiful graphics, gaming & movies.

Use an Intel X25-M for your boot/OS drive and a WD1001FALS Caviar Black for storage.

And what ubersystem is complete without a Blu-ray/HD DVD/DVDRW drive to watch hi-def videos?

There, now you're cooking with gas!

EDIT: Uh-oh, I'm starting to sound like Blain...

I agree with you, 22" is as big as I need for a monitor. However, not everybody shares that opinion, and I can understand why some people would want a larger size, it's just not for me.

If you're happy with a 22" monitor then you'd probably want to look at either a GTX260 Core 216 or 4870 1GB for your video card. Then your power supply could step down to 650 or even 550W.

Otherwise, as Denithor is alluding to, you could build a much more impressive system if money is truly no object. However, just because it's more impressive doesn't mean it really suits your needs.

Yes. And you really shouldn't run two threads on the same subject simultaneously.
