my tv is a 32inch lcd but its only 40.8 lbs according to CNet

anys ways got this tv for $150 with no wall stand i have it ghetto rigged atm but i want it mounted since i can't find the original stand [which i really wanted ]

is it any decent? 360 via component looks nice, first HD LCD not sure what to expect


1*its the unit without hdmi, should i invest in the official ms VGA cable or is the difference so minimal i should just pocket the thirty bucks..*


2* should the tv be set to 720p or 1080i for better overall picture?

If the wall mount fits the TV, then I think the only think you have to be concerned about is the weight limit. Since you're under that, I don't think you have to be concerned about putting a 32" TV on a mount designed for a 30" TV.

I don't know enough about the 360 to tell you if the VGA cable is a good idea. Component and VGA should basically get you the same results in general I think. Whether the 360 has a better implementation of VGA or component is going to be the determining factor I guess. I would suspect that going from component to VGA would not improve things much.

Do you mean should the xbox be set to 720p or 1080i? (rather than the tv?)
720p is probably what you should set your sources to output.

VGA will not look better than component, so save the money.
The biggest thing with wall mounting a tv is make sure you have the mount anchored to the studs and not using something like drywall anchors. I have seen a half sheet of drywall pulled down from a tv that used anchors.

For weight you're fine. The bolt pattern on the mount is another issue. It may fit your TV, it may not. Most likely it will. You might want to spend a bit more and be sure though.

Another thing I like about the mount above is the pattern on the mounting end that goes in the stud. The mounting holes are designed to be aligned as closely as possible to the centerline of the stud. The one you have linked makes it difficult to assure all mounting screws are hitting the stud securely.

It's your choice but, imo, an extra 8 bucks to hold up your TV securely (and ensure it fits properly) is worth it.

That mount is much, MUCH larger than it looks. Have installed a few tvs on it and depending on where the mounting points are on you tv the mount will show over the top. (this is the case with a few panny 32" lcds that have the bolts quite high on the tv) Also, if the tv is not balanced well the mount will also never be straight as part of the mount will twist and no ammount of adjustment of how mount is attached to the wall will fix this. However, the price for this mount is right, so good luck.

If the mount doesnt fit the bolt pattern on the tv monoprice offers a wealth of adapter plates.

with a cantilever mount you really want to hit a stud, but if you do it right dtywall will hold it.

the only reason to use VGA with the xbox is so that you can view at 1080p. since your tv doesn't support that it doesn't matter much.
