That strategy works if you have unlimited bankroll and no table limits. It's more predicated on no table limits however.

And even if it did "work" your profits would be tremendously low.

its just my opinion.

I have never failed to walk out with more than I went in with.

i  you

Thanks for paying my salary.

It works perfectly. Until 0 or 00 hit. Until you hit the table limit. Which WILL happen often enough that you will lose a lot of money.

0-00 does not matter, odds do not matter. It is just payouts covering a progressive bet idea.

Funny, I only play Blackjack and I think of the slots as cancer. Long, drawn out, ugly way to die. I have a couple of friends who are gambling addicts, love the slots. Have won some amazing jackpots, but always end up broke. If you play long enough they will always get your money.

They only way to win at roulette is to not play it.

Or bet very slowly and at low amounts (you don't have to bet every hand) and make up your losings in drinks. But then the waitress never comes around often enough. 🙁

of course.

The secret is to know your limits. That is why I only bring $60 with me. I take a bus tour there and its only $10 round trip. So I am not blowing huge amounts. I win consistently due to knowing my game odds. Some people don't believe it until I go with them. Even my GF wins big with my advice. Her last win was $1100 on slots.

Not true.

There ARE some slots that actually pay 101% or more.....

But be prepared to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and several years of your life NOT MOVING from the machine, not letting anyone else have a turn save you miss a jackpot...

LAWLZ~~~~!!!!!

I am working on a progressive betting system in roulette that tries to avoid table limits by doing intermediate payouts and recognizing trends which do not offer large payouts (remarkably, if I am covering 4 different spreads of numbers and I hit the first 3 spreads early then the final one will not payout large enough to keep the progressive up).

I have been tinkering with it for 3 years or so and refining it... it requires a bankroll of $700 and soon I will try it (one has to try...) so I should bookmark this thread and bump it when I am $700 lighter or come back ahead.

You've been working on that for 3 years? You would have to be some kind of possessed freak to maintain that kind of interest.

They didn't build those huge, lavish casinos by being beaten at their own game...just remember that.

ROFLMAO!!!! What, you think everyone here never took a math class? You are so talking out of your ass that it's just sad. There is no system and no game in which you will EVER have an advantage without working with a team of card counters. I simply don't understand the need some people have to make themselves out to be some sort of gambling gurus and claim that by smart play you can tip the odds in your favor. You can't. PERIOD. Your claiming that you always win is akin to somebody claiming that they can control the weather with their mind. It's just as bogus. If you had the ability to make money at will you'd live in a casino, you wouldn't be here talking about it. Sad.

Video poker - the player has an advantage over the house. But you must play perfectly and find a machine with the correct payouts.

Actually, betting on the dealer in baccarat is the best. It's not every exciting though.

Meh, the 0 and 00 don't even really matter for this scenario.

Actually, depending on the state of the deck, blackjack can easily be in your favor.

I'm a gambling guru and have tipped the odds in my favor. Then again, I'm the guy making the slot machine. 😉

Thanks again for paying my salary Iron Woode!

My understanding of the newer electronic slots is that the casino can change the odds on the fly, while you are playing. If this is true, you really don't have a chance in hell of walking out with your shirt unless they feel like it.

that is so funny, everyone i know never fails to walk out with more than they went in with. at least, thats what they all say. they wouldnt be spewing bullshit, would they? i just dont understand how these casinos stay in business, giving away all that money...

Your best odds in the casino are brushing up on your poker skills and sitting at a table after a big sports game with a bunch of drunk donkeys. Don't play against the casino, you can't win. Fleece the other patrons instead.

That's absolutely not true, and is explicitly againt the law in most (if not all) gaming jurisdictions. In Nevada the casino can't update the game software, which includes the game odds, without a representative of the gaming control board present.

In older machines changing the odds requires roping off the machines and physically swapping out the flash cards containing the software. In the newer machines with remote download and configuration abilities the machine must disable while it is being reconfigured and remain that way for a period after it is completed.

The casinos don't need to resort to the lengths you imagine to make a profit. They have the laws of mathematics on their side.

Anyone read Kevin Mitnick's book The Art of Intrusion? He tells the story of a group of people who ripped off a casino by reverse engineering the software in a slot machine. Fortunately it's the first chapter of the book, which happens to be freely available here if anyone is interested. It's a very cool story.

OP, I suggest you read about the gambler's ruin problem

Not significantly enough in your favor to make a difference unless you're an expert card counter (very difficult to do, hence teams of people doing it.) If you stand by the table and only gamble when the deck is in your favor, they're going to figure out that you're counting cards. And, they will say "good-bye" to you. If you're playing all night & only increase your bets when the deck is in your favor, they're going to figure out that you're counting cards. "Good-bye." And, as they play with well more than 1 deck of cards at a time, it doesn't happen that often to much of a degree.

One of my favorite quotes (not sure if it's true or a legend, and I don't care if it is): Upon proving that the best betting strategy is to bet it all on the first trial, Julian Coolidge is claimed to have stated "It is true that a man who does this is a fool. I have only proved that a man who does anything else is an even bigger fool."

ehh, craps is the most fun, and i won decently last time i played. i really don't go into the casino with the sole purpose to make money, but to have fun and make money if i can. just consider it a couple hundred bucks to have a good time and get drunk.
