Would this project be too much for me to do?

I have a back porch that I want to enclose. It is about 15 feet wide x 6 or 7 feet. I would like to enclose it and out a hot tub in it. The roof of my house extended over the slab porch right now and is supported by two columns. Even though I have never attempted such a project I do not think it would be that bad, how hard could two walls be?

You looking to fully wall off and make it an attached structure? Or would simply running some lattice or similar "privacy" siding be sufficient?

Check your local building regs. Enclosing a hot tub could touch on a lot of areas. Electrical, plumbing, venting, etc.

Doesn't sound bad, but definitely check your local building codes first.

"Screened in" porch would be piece of cake
"3 season room" with insulated walls would be very doable, but a decent amount of work.
Making it into an actual full blown addition would be a TON of work (add HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc ... and it can get VERY complicated and expensive!)

not too hard a project at all. especially for a hot tub room, youo dont even have to butt it to the ground. leave a couple inches space for water flow, screen in the top half. basic framing, and screens are easy. the door you can get premade, just level and pop in.

You could go artsy fartsy and put up a latice wall, plant some vine at the base and weave the vine through the latice as the vine grows. When the vine is full up and fills out a bit, it'll provide privacy, but still let air pass through so you won't have to deal with mildew from the hot tub. Nice cool fresh breeze for you and the five women you take with you, ya know? ;)

Good idea but I have a fence that has vine growing on a section and it looks horrible during winter months

If you've never done anything like this, this isn't a good first project to try. You likely have no clue whatsoever about what you need to do.

Well I would obviously study up and consult with family members who do know how to do this stuff

You said nothing of consulting. You asked about you....not you and some other person(s) who know what the hell they are doing.

With the internet, anybody can do anything.

Ok, not anybody, but most people.

Ok, not most people, but any one who is not an idiot.

Not really. Without any sort of experience in general house construction or carpentry, I wouldn't recommend someone try the "let's read on the internet" approach.

What's the worst that would happen? He'd hurt himself a couple of times? Ruin a few pieces of wood? It's not like he's tearing out his foundation or anything.

How do you know? Maybe he will, since he doesn't know what he's doing.

I wouldn't have family physically help me but I would ask about materials needed etc and general pointers
