Would this PC run Oblivion at all?

Yeah, i'm with ya there. Maybe i'll upgrade on the next socket from AMD (or intel, if they're at least 50% faster at that time 😉)

It's AMD's M2 right? Can anyone point me to a good summary of what chips they have planned for that socket and if they have another socket in line soon after that (like the 754->939 thing...)

How can you get advice on a game that heasn't been released yet? What is it you want people to tell you? Can anybody here really tell you anything that is 100% sure other than the minimum requirements?

Will it run it? Yes, but at what resolution/settings?

You and I have roughly equivalent rigs. I think we're looking at 1024x768 2xAA, medium settings at best.

You can run 2xAA if you don't want all the pretty HDR effects. I think I can do without AA most of the time.

In the other threads, I posted a quote from a preview where they got to play on a P4 3.4, 2GB, X1900 XT and the resolution was set to 1280x768 (probably to closely mimic the 720p res. of the Xbox 360) with no AA. It sounded like this was on a system set up by Besthesda for reviewers to preview the game.

The P4 3.4GHz, X1900XT, 2GB RAM thing is pretty much baloney in my opinion. If it will struggle with that at a measly 1280x768 then why on earth put the Radeon 9600 & GeForce FX series in the requirements??

OP, your PC will run it just fine for 1024x768, maybe with 2x or 4x AA or with just HDR.

i'm pretty sick now with some flu or something, so this will give me something to do while i'm supposed to be in school!
