Here's what I recently decided on for the new setup:
Athlon 64 3000+
Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
dual Seagate 80GB SATA in RAID 0 config
Samsung 52x32x52 CDRW
SB Audigy
Aspire Turbocase w/ 420 watt PSU
I still haven't decided on the RAM or CPU cooler. I definitely want to go with 1GB and I will be overclocking this setup as best I can. I was browsing Newegg and came across this Mushkin RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-294&catalog=147&depa=1
It's a dual pack of 512MB PC-3500 Level One CAS 2 Mushkin sticks. From what I understand it uses the Winbond chips although I may be mistaken. The price is right, this memory is around $30 to $50 cheaper than HyperX, Corsair XMS, OCZ Performance, etc. I'm just wondering how Mushkin Level One compares to these brands, and how well do they overclock. Memory timings okay? Thanks.
