I knew Sennheiser had some pricey options, but I stumbled across this after the emailed me about a sale on some of their headphones. Before seeing this, I thought headphones pretty well topped out around $3k (at least what I've seen on sites like Slickdeals and Head-Fi).But ultimately, yes, you do need these even to listen to crap encoded MP3s. Why? The economy. If you have $60k just sitting around doing nothing, you need to stimulate the economy with that $60k so that people with real taste can be employed and keep the economy going.
