I have the exact setup. It is an excellent combo. Be sure to update the BIOS to the latest version. Its extremely stable.

Well, to be honest, I'm running at stock speeds. I'm more of a "stability freak" than an "overclocking nut"

Make sure you have a nice, strong & stable power supply. It will be a nice combo then

Hmm...Now it raises another question. Overclocking aside, which cpu is better, performance wise?
I recently paid $311.99 + tax @ Micro Center for a retailed +3800 X2 Manchester. What's price range for an Opteron 165?

for overclocking, go opteron over x2.

btw, for referance for the op, i have my x2 3800+ @ 2.6ghz, which seems to be about all that people are able to get out of them, while with the opterons, ive heard they can usually get 100mhz+ higher than that
