I've basically decided to go watercooling because I can't get my case closed with a decent air setup due to space constraints. Here is the casecase.
Here is the setup I was considering:
2 120mm radiators (Probably the Black Ice GT's) - one passive on the left side vent to conserve usage of the bottom PCI slot and one on the right hand vent with a fan on it.
1 2x80mm radiator (Black Ice Micro II) on the back exhaust fans (Would this even help?)
MCP350/355 pump
T-line instead of a reservoir to save on space
D-Tek Fuzion CPU block
MCW60 GPU block
MCW30 Northbridge block
Here is my setup:
Asus P5B DEluxe WiFi
C2D E6400
Radeon 1950XT 512MB
MyHD TV Tuner
200 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.8
Asus DVD-RW
Currently, everything is at stock speed. I have been able to set all my games on max settings without any hiccups, so I haven't tried to overclock yet. Everything is new except for the board and CPU. The previous owner was able to hit 3.2 no problem. I will end up overclocking eventually when I see the need. Will this setup cool decently well, especially overclocked? I can't get the case closed with the video card fan sticking up. I've watercooled in the past, so I'm not totally new to it. Any suggestions? I know I could always switch cases, but I don't want to leave that as an option. Right now, the CPU sits at 42* idle with the top off and a Thermaright SI-128 SE with a Zalmann fan on top. I'm not sure what it gets up to under load, but I can put my hand on the pipes, and they barely feel warm. Also, the GPU is at 49* idle. Again, I'm not sure under load, but it gets toasty in the room playing a game.
