Would the U.S. be happier split along polarization lines?

I wouldn't know which side to go with. Both sides have some positions that I vehemently disagree with.

That would be a really long wall the US of C would have to put up to keep out illegal immigrants seeking health care. 😉

You know for those who don't find faith clinics fulfilling their needs.

You win P/N forums today. 😀

Also, the federal gov't would never allow it.

The reality is this country was founded in the concept of the population never agreeing. From the constitutional congress was formed until this minute, the country has been made of people with very different viewpoints. It's why our government has checks and balances. It's why we vote. It's why 100% agreement isn't needed for anything.

Our most basic right is our right to disagree. It's promised and expected that we argue. If we ever stop arguing and start accepting, our country is lost.

Exactly this.

Obligatory:

I'm not sure which country I'd hate worse.

The liberal country would be happier, while the conservative country would fail. Conservatives can't govern on their own. They would never be able to sustain their own country.

Just like now in the US, the conservative states need the liberal states to subsidize and support them. Without any help from the liberals, the conservatives would fail by their own ideology.

Like the states listed below in Bold?

Last year, Forbes Magazine published an article in which the writer identified 11 U.S. states in which there are more people on welfare and and other government programs than those who are employed. Although the focus of the article was in regards to where he advised people to invest their finances, the article was also a wake-up call about states that are what is referred to as being in a death spiral.

The 11 states included:

* Alabama
* California
* Hawaii
* Illinois
* Kentucky
* Maine
* Mississippi
* New Mexico
* New York
* Ohio

* South Carolina

One of the craziests things I ever heard out of a liberal, was that this country will finally be free when all the white people die. :Q

Since farmers are overwhelmingly conservative, the liberal country would starve to death.

Farmers wouldn't get subsidies and lol if you don't think liberals couldn't import food elsewhere. In fact, if the farmers didn't get subsidies AND the blue states didn't buy food from the red states, farmers would starve to death (you could argue they would already even with all 50 states intact but no subsidy). Don't be stupid.

The liberal half would be happier. The conservative half would be just as miserable.

I think the conservative half would be more miserable because once the 'enemy' Democrats have been purged, they would have to go after each other to fight over who rules the roost. Republicans thrive on having an enemy and if they lost Democrats then they would find new ones amongst themselves, starting the division all over again.

It's all they know.

It doesn't matter as differences are superficial. Both sides are dependent on consumer spending and increasing debt.

Are you trying to tell us PCgeek is not only an idiot but also extremely gullible for giving any credence to spam?

No way!

My point was you can find a link to show anything you want. It all depends on what you want to include in the " Government Handout " heading. some include Pensions, Military Spending etc which has Nothing to do with the subject. Some studies only include TANF Payments. These studies are by far and away biased to show what ever the authors biases want to show.

There are lots of welfare recipients in Every State not just the Red States or the Blue States. California has a huge welfare payout. But that gets offset by its massive population.

You are all going to keep on beating the red state / blue state anyway in your obvious delusion.

Enjoy your false sense of superiority.

🙂

I fell for bullshit spam, therefore everything on the internet is untrue or biased in some way.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

You don't think that has anything to do with the fact that California has 12% of the population? That is 50% more than the next most populous state.

There are too many lines of too many kinds to ever split along them unless you create 300 M individual countries.
