I currently have the oldschool Samsung 24 incher, love it, its the best of the best for 24inchers. I would like something a bit bigger though to play games on.
Here is the deal... There is information scattered across this forums and the net regarding these large displays. You basically have a few choices.
1. Dell 30inchers, there are two now
2. HP 30 incher
3. Samsung 30 incher.
4. viewsonic and hanns G 28 inchers, both TN, so their veiwable angle is really bad.
5. Sharp Aquas 32 gaming HDTV.
6. Westinghouse 37 1080p. I have heard bad things about FPS performance on these, so its out.
Well, I have been up all night combing everything regarding these monitors. The only thing I need to know is Monitor Lag in gaming, if its Ok or better I will read more, BUT, nobody EVER talks about these things, and it seems the people who actually are using them must be occupied with their gaming cause they are not responding. The lag issue, apparently removes the Samsung and Dell and Westinghouse from the mix.
The Viewable angle issue removes the two 28 inchers.
So NOW, we are left with two choices
1.
HP 30 incher for $1300+, BUT HAVE NOT FOUND ANY INFORMATION REGARDING GAMING ON THIS LCD.
2.
Sharp 32inch HDTV 1080p. This looks So promising until I found that it has a serious contrast issue when surfing the web. It will dynamically change the contrast so that you cant read text, VERY ANNOYING and you cant turn it off. This would be IDEAL for big screen gaming as its loaded with excellent features until some idiot says "here, lets make sure this thing changes contrast when it thinks its should without the preference of the owner" pffft, Pissed me to no heck and that is what actually started this 36 hour hunt now for the perfect large screen monitor.
So, lets all put our heads and expereince together and see what we can come up with. I am toast and need serious help. I care about 3 things in my monitor and nothing else really, I dont want bells and whistles like USB and all that junk, but dont care to have it though if these 3 things are all good or better
1. Very little to no lag when playing games like Counterstrike or BF2
2. Large viewing angle for those times when friends come over to watch or you want to watch a movie
3. Equal or Greater then 1080p, thats 1900x1080
Any and all experience with these monitors are much appreciated. But please, lets talk about gaming performance please.
O yea, these are only my opinions based on what i have read on the net. It could all be wrong, so please help me.
i merged your 2 threads since they were so similar and the older one became active again.
