Would the 8800GTS (320) be enough for 1440x900 resolution?

I've currently got a 7800GT, and I'm thinking about stepping up. Now I know for a fact that the 8800GTX would be overkill for the monitor that I have (1440x900, like I said), and I have absolutely no intention of getting a new monitor anytime soon.

That said, would the 8800GTS 320MB version be enough video card to play current (read: DX9) games with all (or at least a significant majority of) the bells and whistles enabled? Or would I have to step up to the 640MB version for that privilege?

I don't want to get more video card than I'm using, know what I mean?

Thanks in advance.

I've heard people say that the 320MB is fine up to 1680x1050. So based on those opinions, I would say you are fine with a 8800GTS 320MB @ 1400x900.

i dunno ... my x1950p/512M is sufficient for 14x9 ... most details high ... certainly the GTS is much faster

that said, if you are going for the GTS, get the 640M version ... it isn't much more and newer games definitely use 512MB vRAM now

that said again ... i am upgrading to the HD2900xt because i AM thinking of another monitor ... i want to use my current 14x9 as a 2nd display and a 20.1" display at 16x10 as my main monitor
