Title says it all.

Umm no? They make the 528s in 6 speed and sport package too (E60)

I've driven the automatic 528i, very solid car. Not a whole lot of power obviously, but the steering/handling is still nice and BMW-tight. More exiting than a camry/maxima imo.

S4 is a chick car. That's why Halik sold his(he won't admit that though!).

A 528 I see as a professionals daily driver car. Doctor, lawyer, stock broker. More boring and sensible than a 3 series. Still not making enough dough to go for the 7 series though. Probably putting his kids through ivy league school or something. 5 series is definitely stodgy.

I'd actually take a 3 series over a 5 series. The 5 series is too big.
5 series isn't that big. Maybe too big for what you like, but really not that big.

IMO the 3 series is too small. It's around the same size as a Civic or Corolla.

And unless you make enough to be driven in a 7 series, I don't see the point. THAT is a big car. I'd rather spend the money on a 550 with every option than on any of the 7 series.

I'm with JD. The 5 series is a bit too big for me, but it's perfect for it's audience.

Is the 528 that much cheaper then a 530D?

The 528 is not a chicks car. It's for the person that wants a bigger then 3 series car and doesn't particularly care about performance but likes a nice ride and big boot. My ex's gf father had a 530D and it was a nice car for his purposes. Eats the miles in comfort, good fuel economy, the dogs can sit on the back seat, he liked the drive etc.

As for the 550, why? Why not go for the full hog and get the M5?! The 550 is not going to be economical :p

I'd personally wouldn't get a low end car like that. I'd save some more £££ and get a better spec one but I'm partial to second hand cars.
